Jesse believes that serious illness, grief, and major life transitions unfold in seasons; shaping not only the body, but identity, relationships, meaning, and the stories we tell about who we are.

With a background in hospice, hospital, and community-based care, Jesse creates spaces that invite people to slow down, listen inwardly, and make sense of experiences that often feel overwhelming or impossible to put into words. Their work integrates person-first frameworks and meaning-centered approaches that support both emotional insight and practical change.

At the heart of Jesse’s work is the belief that end of life and serious illness are not merely medical events, but profoundly human experiences; ones that touch culture, history, belief, and relationship.

The work of growing works in cycles of effort sustained by the belief that life is both unpredictable and possible in every moment.

The Creation of
Seasons of the Soul

This framework emerged from both my professional practice and my lived experience.

As a young caregiver, I learned firsthand how disorienting, tender, painful, and deeply sacred life-limiting illness can be for those living it, and for those who love them. That experience shaped my understanding of what it truly means to accompany someone through their end of life.

I created this framework because people deserve support that:

  • adapts as their illness and inner world change,

  • makes room for the “un-languagable,”

  • brings structure to experiences that feel chaotic, and;

  • helps them create meaning - not through platitudes, but through honest, relational exploration.

Metaphor, ritual, narrative, and therapeutic conversation are all part of the work.

Not because they “fix” anything, but because they help give shape and depth to experiences that might otherwise feel diffuse or hard to hold.

Clients who work with me often describe my style as warm, collaborative, & conversational.

My work weaves together humour when appropriate, curiosity about dreams and the unconscious, psychodynamic exploration, and cognitive approaches that support practical change.

We've All Got Layers

I’m endlessly curious about
the moon, the metaphysical, nature (did you know about the changing territories of the eastern cougar population?)

Things that feel like home
coffee in the sunshine, a home-cooked meal or late night drive-thru, the first crisp day of spring, a "this reminded me of you" text from a friend

Absurd joys I fully endorse
reading several books at once (and renewing them at the library way too many times), a perfectly timed bit between friends, dogs in sweaters, reality TV

What helps me feel connected
finding the perfect candle for the season, playing (and watching) sports with my queer community, cold plunges, long distance running, laughing with strangers
