A flexible pathway for care, reflection & preparation
The Seasons of the Soul Framework
Seasons of the Soul is a thematic framework for spiritual and existential care that adapts
to the changing realities of illness, grief, and life transition. Rather than a fixed program,
it offers a shared language and structure to help orient reflection, ritual, planning,
and support over time.
We begin our work together in the season that best reflects your current needs, not at
a predetermined starting point. As circumstances shift, we may move through different seasons, return to familiar themes, or linger where support is most needed. This flexibility reflects a simple truth: illness and human experience are not linear.
Each season offers an evidence-informed thematic focus, along with invitations for reflection, symbolic practice, legacy work, and preparation. Care is paced, responsive, and grounded in respect for your energy, cognition, emotions, and values; whether your orientation is secular, spiritual, religious, or a combination.
At its core, this work honours the rhythm of real life: periods of clarity and uncertainty, movement and rest, holding and letting go. No matter the season, care is offered in a way that recognizes your humanity and meets you where you are.

Beginning & Orienting
Spring
A season of beginnings.
Support focuses on understanding your diagnosis, finding stability, and navigating the early shifts of illness with grounding and clarity.

Deepening & Exploring
Summer
A season of growth
and reflection.
Explore meaning, relationships, emotions, and inner resources as you engage more deeply with your experience of illness.

Releasing & Re-Prioritizing
Autumn
A season of transition
and letting go.
Support helps you process grief, adjust priorities,
and reflect on legacy while preparing for life’s shifting circumstances.

Stillness & Softening
Winter
A season of turning
energy inward.
Support centers on rest, ritual, and presence before death, throughout the dying process, and in the sacred moments that follow.

Life moves in seasons -
beginning, flourishing, preparing, resting.
Let’s explore together.
Hey there, I'm Jesse
Registered Psychotherapist & Spiritual Care Provider
Through years of working alongside people living with serious illness, grief, and profound transition, I’ve witnessed how disorienting and lonely the inner experience of illness can be -
even when medical care is excellent.
That’s why I’ve dedicated my work to offering spiritual and existential care that adapts to the realities of life-limiting illness.
I offer support that is relational, and shaped by your values, beliefs, and the way you experience the world.
I approach this work as an act of service, accompanying you with steadiness and curiosity as you navigate whatever season
you find yourself in.

Ways We Can Work Together
There is no single way this work needs to look. Some people come for one or two conversations at a particular moment; others choose to work together over time as illness, questions, or circumstances evolve. We’ll begin by talking about what feels most supportive for you, and shape the work together from there.
Individual Sessions (1:1)
One-to-one sessions offer space for personal reflection, emotional and existential support, and ongoing accompaniment.
Sessions can be:
-
Virtual
-
In person - in your home, or wherever you are receiving care (hospital, hospice, or long-term care)
You might come with a specific question, transition, or moment you’d like support with. Or you may be imagining a longer arc of care; whether for a short stretch, intermittently, or through end of life. There is no expectation either way. Together, we’ll name
the pace, intentions, and container for the work,
and revisit them as needed.
Care-Circle Sessions
At times, it can be helpful to bring the people closest to you into the conversation. These conversations can support clarity around values, wishes, roles, and how loved ones can best support the person at the center of care - emotionally, practically, and relationally.
Sessions are typically offered as one-time or occasional conversations, and may include:
-
Clarifying goals and priorities
-
Supporting communication during times of uncertainty or change
-
Preparing for future decisions together
-
Making space for shared understanding, questions, and emotions
Care-circle work is held in person, and always guided by the wishes and consent of the primary client.
When an expected future shifts, the inner experience
can feel chaotic & disorienting
Areas of Focus
Emotional Processing
This work supports coping with stress and emotional overwhelm related to diagnosis and illness progression.
This work creates space to process what arises as circumstances change, including anticipatory grief, uncertainty, and the emotional impact of changing health, roles, or capacity.
Existential Exploration
This work invites reflection on identity and what makes life meaningful.
Questions may feel big - What do I do now? Why is this happening to me? The work can include values clarification, ritual and symbolic practices, storytelling, and legacy work. It is always shaped by your beliefs, worldview, and lived experience.
Reflective Preparation
This work offers a thoughtful approach to considering what lies ahead, without rushing or forcing decisions.
It can include advance care planning, discernment around MAiD, end-of-life ritual or ceremony design, and involving family or care-circle members in shared conversations when helpful.
Wherever you find yourself, there is a place to begin.
